Principal’s Message – April 25th
Dear École Herbert Spencer Community,
I returned this week and so appreciate the warm welcome back from Staff, Students and Families. Everything went very well for me and I am thrilled to be back, healthy and ready to close out the 2025/26 school year! We are actively planning and organizing for next school year which will begin with our newest 2025/26 students and our Welcome to Kindergarten event on Thursday, May 1st. We look forward to welcoming the newest members of the École Herbert Spencer Family!
WE DID IT!!! Two Herbert Spencer Teams made the Finals of the New West Reading Link Challenge held today at the NWPL – The Reading Minions and The Incredible Pengue Returns Team. And ….. The Reading Minions took First Place! Huge Congratulations to all the teams for participating and a special thank you to Ms Kim Thomas for coordinating such an amazing fun and educational opportunity for our students.
Now on to the Final Grand Challenge Round where students will compete against other Lower Mainland Teams in a bid to become the Grand Champions!
2024/25 Herbert Spencer Yearbook!
The 2024-25 Herbert Spencer Yearbook is complete and now available for pre-ordering! Yearbooks will be delivered directly to your child’s classroom in Late June. Should you need financial support in purchasing a Yearbook please contact Mr Manville directly at pmanville@sd40.bc.ca

Neufeld Farms PAC Fundraiser!
PAC Neufeld Farms Fundraiser Deadline is upon us! Ordering available until end of day April 28th, with delivery on May 7th at 5:30pm.
Grade 5 Grad Social! – Tuesday, May 13th
Glow Out with a Bang! Grade 5 Families are invited to attend the Grade 5 Grad Social on Tuesday, May 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM
Book Exchange!
Our Environment Club and Library Monitors are running a book exchange for students school-wide from May 5th – 9th. The plan is to have students bring in gently used books they no longer want to exchange with others. Book collection will be from Monday, May 5th to Thursday May 8th and the BIG EXCHANGE will take place on Friday, May 9th. Our environment club will advertise the exchange over the coming days leading up to the big week!
