Principal’s Message – May 15th

Dear École Herbert Spencer Community,

Organization for the 2025/26 school year is well underway! From our recent Welcome to Kindergarten Event on May 1st to finalizing school organization, student placements and staffing decisions, staff are hard at work in preparation for the coming Fall and another exciting year at Herbert Spencer.

At present our student population will be lower than 2024/25 and we are likely to reduce our number of divisions accordingly. This situation will be fluid and we will update the community as the process unfolds and decisions are made. Staff will begin the process of placing many of our Special Education students and then in early June the balance of our students into classrooms for the 2025/26 school year. Please feel free to communicate any student placement concerns or considerations directly to Mr Manville at pmanville@sd40.bc.ca.

June is a BUSY month of field trips and special events and activities. Please pay close attention to dates and times and reach out to your child’s teacher directly should you have any questions.

Huge Thanks to Grade 5 Grad Glow Party Organizers!!

The graduating 2025 Grade 5 class enjoyed a night of dancing, singing, crafts and selfies this past Tuesday evening. Students had a blast and we so appreciate the efforts of our PAC organizers Erin Shaw, Kailey Toth and Jen Rhyne and of course our DJ Mom Kimberly Thompson! Congratulations again to our Grade 5 Graduating Class, more festivities to come in the coming weeks!

Our Next Spring Performance!

Our Performing Arts Club is set and ready to present the HIGH “C’s” Adventure! We will have a daytime performance for our students and two evening performances for the entire community on Wednesday, May 21st at 6PM and Thursday, May 22nd at 6PM.

Parent’s Night Out: – May 31st at the Royal City Curling Club – Tickets NOW AVAILABLE on MUNCH-A-LUNCH

PAC Parent’s Night Out is scheduled for May 31st in the lounge upstairs at the Royal City Curling Club. The theme is 80’s night!

2024/25 Herbert Spencer Yearbook!
