PAC Call for Elections – A Message from your PAC

Hello Herbert Spencer Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful sunshine – summer is just around the corner!

The time has come to select our Herbert Spencer Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Executive for the 2025/2026 school year. The PAC organizes fun lunches, events (Halloween Howl, Carnival, First Light), as well as fundraisers that contribute to some of the great things that our kids get to do at the school. And we can’t do it without you!

Below you will find the Call for Nominations as well as some information about the roles and responsibilities for the different PAC Executive positions. Most of these positions require only a few hours a month – and it is a great opportunity to meet fellow parents and caregivers.

In particular, we are looking for:

Secretary
Treasurer/CFO (pending)
Canadian Parents for French (CPF) Representative
Members at Large

Choir Performance! – Tuesday, June 10th

We will be holding a choir concert on Tuesday, June 10th, at 6pm in the GYM. Everyone is welcome to attend! Access will be open at the Side Gym Doors adjacent to 6th Avenue. Doors Open at 5:45 PM – Hope to See you there!

Grade 5 Graduation and Celebration Day – Friday, June 13

The day has come! Grade 5 Graduation is only 2 weeks away. On Friday, June 13th, Grade 5 students will participate in our Graduation Ceremonies in the morning followed by a special lunch and Fun Water Activities in the afternoon. Stay tuned for further detail although here is the schedule you can expect:

11AM – Graduation Ceremony in the Gym – Parents are Welcome to Attend. Please limit your attendance to 2 family members to ensure we have enough space. Doors will open at 10:45 AM at the side Gym Doors adjacent to 6th Avenue.

12:00 – 1:00 PM – Student Lunch – Food items from El Santos in New Westminster

1:15 PM ~ Dismissal – Herbert Spencer Water Park! Details to come here but students should be prepared and bring towels, bathing suits and footwear that can get wet!

Track and Field

What a day! Grade 5 students participated in the First (after a long break …) Annual District Track Meet. A huge congratulations to all our student athletes that trained so hard and our Grade 5’s that competed so well. Thank you so much to our coaching staff that made it all possible. And yet another huge thank you to Ms Kim Thomas for her passionate leadership to bring back this important District Wide Event.
