2026-27 School Start Up Information and Reminders!
Our School is Full and Class Placements have been set. We will have 14 English Divisions and 10 Early French Immersion Divisions for a grand total of 24. An increase of 3 Divisions from last year. Our Total student population will be 547. Our Bell Schedule remains the same with Opening Bell at 8:50AM; 2 Recesses at 10:10 and 10:25 AM; and One Lunch from 12:05 – 1:00 PM; Dismissal at 3PM.
Opening Week – Sep 8th – 11th
Grade 1 – 5 Students New and Returning
Tuesday, September 8th
Our first day back. Students attend for 1 hour from 8:50 – 9:50 AM.
Returning Grade 1 – 5 students will be directed to their Last Year Classrooms.
EFI Consolidation Students transferring from Qayqayt will be directed to specific classrooms by Grade and supervised by New or transferring EFI teachers from Qayqayt. We will provide this information to transferring EFI students on August 4th by email.
*New Grade 1 -5 Students to Spencer (with the exception of EFI consolidation students transferring from Qayqayt) will come to the Main Foyer where they will be greeted and supervised in the Library.
Wednesday, September 9th
Our first Full Day from 8:50 – 3:00PM. ALL Grade 1 – 5 students will organize into our 2026-27 Classrooms before entering the school. *Specific Line Up Information and Locations will be provided to all families (Returning, New and EFI Consolidation students) on Tuesday, September 8th by email.
Kindergarten Students
Kindergarten Students do not attend on September 8, 9 or 10th and instead follow the Kindergarten Gradual Intake Schedule. Kindergarten families will receive communication directly from their child’s teacher on September 8th to schedule Welcoming Conversations for either September 9th or September 10th. The first day of class time for our incoming Kindergarten Students is Friday, September 11th, again following the Kindergarten Gradual Intake Schedule.
School Supplies will again be purchased in bulk for 2026-27. Families will be charged $50 on September 9th through School Cash Online. Supplies are purchased directly by classroom teachers. This has proven to be an efficient model ensuring students have access to the same supplies and we are able to take advantage of bulk purchasing power and replenish as needed. If families need support with school supply purchases or prefer to purchase them independently please contact Mr Manville directly at pmanville@sd40.bc.ca and we will be happy to support!
