Principal’s Message – April 2
Dear École Herbert Spencer Community,
Welcome back! We trust everyone had a great Spring Break! Lots of activities on the horizon as we move into our final term of the 2025/26 School Year. Please see the following highlights, reminders, updates and information!
A reminder that school is closed tomorrow Friday April 3rd for Good Friday and Monday, April 6th for Easter Monday.

Cultural Activities with Nadine McSpadden!
Nadine is a member of the Secwepémc Nation and makes her home in Invermere, BC in the Shuswap Band community. Nadine is a 60’s scoop survivour and we were absolutely honoured to welcome her to our school where she engaged students in learning about about natural dyes and wool and helped them make friendship bracelets. She brought so much passion and experience to our school, connecting immediately with students who were eager to share there own histories and ancestry. Thank you Nadine!

April 21 – Grade 5 Grad Social – Glow in the Dark Dance Party!
Location: Herbert Spencer Gym
Time: 6:00-8:00pm
Grade 5 Students Only and Must be Accompanied by an Adult. Please No Siblings or Family Members.
This is a Free Drop In Event and No Registration is required. Please see the linked poster for more details.

June 12 – Grade 5 Grad Ceremony followed by a special Grad Lunch and our annual Epic Water Battle!
Time: Specific Details to Come/Mid Day Ceremony and Afternoon Water Battle

June 17 – Grade 5 Classes Field Trip to Otter Co-op in Langley
June 25 – Grad Families BBQ
All grade 5 families invited.
Location: Queens Park Large Picnic Shelter
Time: 5:00-8:00pm

Our Community Schools Afterschool Programs are always very popular. Sports of all Sorts, Stem Builders, Brick Builders, Soccer, Dance Fit and the TACC Sampler Class are all offered this Spring.
